Ksenia Yakiv: Milan – The City of Fashion, Museums & Shopping

“Hi! Hello! Buongiorno!”

With these words usually starts each my day. Thought I stay in Italy, I don’t stop using these three languages. Also I want to admit that there are so many people from my country! So, let me introduce myself. I’m Ksenia and in Europe people understand and could pronounce well my name only in this way. I’ve being studying in Milan for 4 years in Marangoni University. And I’m so excited about it and all new projects that we have! All this experience gives us important knowledge and new vision.

If you want to see the culture and historical aspect you should visit such cities as Rome, Florence, Verona. Here in Milan you won’t see it, because it is more industrial and manufacturing city. People here are always in a rush to their jobs or business meetings. But there is still one pleasure thing which will never change – morning coffee with fresh backed brioche.
To feel the real Italy and pretend to be a local one – you should visit next stylish places, where you’ll find delicious breakfasts and coffee:

  • Pasticceria Prada (Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II)
  • Bar Luce (Largo Isarco, 2)
  • Pave (Via Felice Casati, 27)
  • 22 Milano (Via Principe Amedeo, 2/7)
  • Ravizza dal 1871 (Via Ulrico Hoepli, 3)
  • Savini (Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II)

A lot of people have plans to visit Milan only because of shopping reasons. There are two perfect areas to make this dream comes true: the famous Montenapoleone Street and La Rinascente Department store.
The first one has amazing atmosphere with bright windows and stylish people inside. The second – multistory accommodation with a lot of famous brands and boutiques.

Don’t forget to visit the Pinacoteca di Brera (Via Brera, 28) to enjoy the incredible painting in this gallery.
For those who like modern art as mush as I, I recommend to go to the Fondazione Prada. This place is just amazing and exists like one independent world.

I hope that Milan will touch your heart and soul as it did with mine.
