Interview with Owner of Fashion Showroom ‘Portrait.store’

As on my blog since today there is a new category called ‘People Talk’, I’d like to begin with introducing one talented girl and my also friend. Olya has her own showroom @Portrait.store. (which for now works only online), where you could find so many interesting and unique clothes made by russian, ukrainian and georgian designers. We met with Olya and I asked her how everything started and about her plans.

– Your day started with…

…with coffee, shower and of course my Instagram feed!) As it’s a time for fashion weeks I have to know all about the last trends.

–  What did inspire you to set up your own business?

As you know, I used to write a blog and it caused so many meeting with people who worked in fashion industry. After my first visiting Mercedes-Benz Tbilisi Fashion week I understood that I want to sell theire designers!

– What would you recommend those who has just started?

Well, first of all, do not trust people and even yourself!) You must fix all documentary. And keep on mind about the showroom’s concept.

– Who are your favorite designers?

There is a quite new ukrainian brand called ‘Ono Brand’, which qualified on such casual cool items as t-shirts, hoodies and socks.

– What should the brand or designer do to become a part of your stock range?

Fit our concept and mood! It’s so important if a customer could easily combine all clothes which he or she bought in our showroom.

What will we see in the new season? Which trends could you highlight?

I always prefer minimalism, but a little bit crazy one) It could be an unusual detail such as logo, texture or embroidery. Also I highly recommend to pay attention on fur shoes! Why not?)

Tell some tiny secreters of your successful instagram?

You must be active and provide high qualified photos! It may be done not only with a super professional camera, nowadays iPhones are our best friends in this case!) Also don’t be afraid of any changes!

– There are such days when you are absolutely done and don’t want to do anything. How do you activate yourself in these moments and where do you take your inspiration?

I love thinking about my dreams and then create a mood board with it! And it does really work!) Also I like cooking and meet with my friends. But the best way to start working is planning your next trip!)
